It’s always wonderful coming to Belcara. Brittany at desk who checks me out is always so nice to see. She is so pleasant and helpful. New girl at check in was also very pleasant and kind. Kara is the best! I have been going to her for many years. I absolutely love how she transforms my face with her “magic”. She is the very talented in what she does. She also cares about her clients
Thank you Belcara for always making me feel beautiful

Always satisfied with my experience, and results! Cara is amazing! She is gentle, attentive, and always on point! I look amazing after leaving her chair!!! She makes you feel comfortable, and safe! Both front area receptionists are friendly, and welcoming. I travel 2 hours each way and it’s always worth it!!
Shannon Gornall

everyone who works there is wonderful from the secretarial staff to the nurses to Dr. Cohen, who I absolutely love. They’re all very professional, kind ,know what they’re doing and I would recommend this place to anybody who wants Fillers, or plastic surgery. I am so Happy with my plastic surgery results on my breast with Dr Cohen

I had a great 1st time experience. Kara was patient, informative and just all around down to earth and kind. I’m looking forward to my next appt!!
Donna B

I was greeted by a friendly young woman behind the reception desk. Didn’t have to wait but a couple minutes for my appt time with Kara, my nurse. She was professional and patient (as always) as I spoke of some concerns. She addressed all my questions. The procedure only took a few minutes and I was walking out the door. I’ve been going to Belcara for several years and have always had exceptional care and service. Highly recommend!

Dr. Gaston Larry H MD is known for his expertise in delivering quality care. Patients appreciate his ability to perform effective treatments, which have made a positive impact on their health. His professional demeanor is commendable, and he has built a loyal patient base over the years.
However, there are areas for improvement, especially regarding appointment scheduling and office organization. A more streamlined approach could enhance the overall experience, ensuring that patients feel valued and cared for during their visits.

I’ve had to reschedule twice to get in and on the days of my appointments I’m waiting at least an hour cause there’s no organization. I wanna support black businesses but they won’t thrive operating like this. He needs to hire more people that specializes in what he does and they have paperwork all over the office that’s probably backed up from the 80’s! Like there needs to be a change and immediately. This will probably be my last month with him
C Bur (Che)

Dr. Gaston is great at what he does. However, he doesn’t talk or explain to you whatever it is happening or going on with your condition. He just sends prescriptions to the pharmacy and sends you on to your way. No instruction on what he’s giving you or what to do.
The overbooking of appointments and wait times are inconsiderate and insane! It’s no reason to be waiting 1 hr 1/2+ past your appointment time and there are people scheduled before you still sitting in the waiting room. He needs to hire more staff to perform the services he offers. If the chemical peel lady is not there or calls out that day, he has no one that can perform that service for you and you have to reschedule. You will get a text saying she won’t be in but that will literally be mins before your appointment. And not for nothing, the Garwyn Medical location is disgusting, outdated, and in need of a desperate renovation; furniture and all.
CheTaya Hillard

I love Dr. Gaston, been with him for years. However, Whoever answers the phone needs to do better. She double check my phone number and pharmacy, to end up calling my mom and the wrong pharmacy.. how?! Took a month to receive my prescription. Biggest turn off EVER and I’m super understanding but THAT grind my gears.
Jamoni Lenae

The doctor does an amazing job but the wait time is not ideal. The office doesn’t have enough chairs so you may have to stand in the hallway and it’s hot not to mention.
N

Dr. Gaston’s is an excellent doctor. However the office is dirty, the staff over books the patients . 20 people shouldn’t have the same appointment time. Not to mention if you gonna have your patients waiting at least have somewhere for them to sit while waiting. The waiting area is full and you have folks standing up outside the office. It’s ridiculous!!!

I went to Dr. Lauring last month for a body exam and it was a body glance at best. It took me longer to take my clothes off then for her to look at my back, just my back, no other part of my body. At the end of the appointment she wanted me to schedule another exam in 6 months. Why? She didn’t even examine me the first time. Waste of time and money. Careless and not thorough.
Lorin Barrett-Obler

I wholeheartedly endorse Dr. Lauring and her exceptional team! As someone who’s navigated the healthcare system, visiting numerous specialists – including a renowned endocrinologist from John Hopkins – I can confidently say that Dr. Lauring stands out. She’s the only physician who has successfully diagnosed the underlying cause of my symptoms, and I’m forever grateful.
Dr. Lauring’s approach is unparalleled. She listens attentively, offers compassion, and provides unwavering support – treating each patient with the same care and dedication she’d offer to her own loved ones. In my opinion, Dr. Lauring is a top-tier physician, and I’m thrilled to recommend her and her outstanding staff.

Love this practice and Dr. Hannah, she is the best too. Dr. Hannah is young, professional, and has the best bedside mannor. I live for my appointments because her techs/assistants are so on point and nice and Dr. Hannah has the best style sense in the medical field – HANDS DOWN.
A year ago I would not come outside because my skin was so bad, but now you cannot keep me covered up. If you ever need a good dermatologist that is on point with her meds and professionalism . . . AND CAN DRESS . . . this is the physician for you.
Also, before I press post, Dr. Hannah is also not one of those physicians to push pills on you. She always asks my opinion and if I do not understand something she is patient in explaining it.
Now, go on and sign up. You won’t be disappointed – TRUST ME!!

I Love Dr. Lauring for both derm issues as well as face maintenance. She is very knowledgeable about injectables as well as lasers and anything you would need. The staff are very nice and the office is very clean. I won’t go anywhere else!
Audie's Travel Diary

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The women at the front desk were very nice and made sure I was comfortable. My doctor was also kind and sympathetic. I felt comfortable and safe the entire time and knew I was in good hands. And they have great prices. Will definitely be going back to this place again!

Charm City Plastic Surgery was recommended to me for microneedling, and I am SO grateful for that recommendation! Each visit was wonderful. Everyone is so knowledgeable and friendly.
I wasn’t sure what to expect at my first session, but Lindsay’s positivity immediately put me at ease. Hannah was also easy to talk to, and I am so grateful for her kindness and patience. She happily responded to all of my questions/thoughts, some related to microneedling and some not 🙂 she made my experience a 10/10!
What an all-around lovely place that I’ll go out of my way to return to.
Marinda Parham

Stumbled across this place back in November 2023, when my gauged left earlobe tore and I needed it repaired. I initially went because the location was convenient, so, why not? But after multiple trips there, I’m really sold on this place.
Doctor Emily (as the staff call her) is warm, friendly, and very skilled. Most importantly, she takes her time to think through the situation, and comes up with a solution that will work for you. A lot of plastic surgeons just force their idea on you, even if it’s not the best idea for you. With Doctor Emily’s approach, regardless of the procedure, you will almost certainly get better results.
PA Lindsay is really smart and energetic, and dedicated to doing her best work, every time. She’s not one to just call things “good enough,” the way so many other “professionals” are. She’s very much into learning about the newest techniques and procedures, and adding them to her “toolkit,” so she can give every patient the best possible service.
Overall, the staff is great, the office is great, and if you live in Baltimore City, the location is great. Whatever work you’re thinking about getting done, it’s worth checking this place out. It’s very different from other, similar businesses – in a good way!
David Ploskonka

Such a beautiful office with a friendly staff. Dr. Clarke-Pearson and Lindsay are exceptional!! They are both so knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable throughout the duration of my appointment. I would recommend to anyone in need of a kind, caring plastic surgeon who does excellent work!
Chelsea Cross

Absolutely LOVE this office and staff!!! Got my lips done and LOVED the results – they were so plump and so full! The difference of before and after were totally noticeable and I got so many compliments on how full they looked! Thank you Charm City Plastic Surgery – especially Lindsay, for my plump, full lips!!!!
Julia Hartge

I have had a filler, Botox, eyelid surgery, in office liposuction with fabulous results. I also had a tummy tuck and thigh lift and the experience exceeded all my expectations! The surgery and recovery were much better tolerated than I anticipated. And WOW my new belly button is just the cutest darn thing!!! Dr. Emily’s professionalism and thoughtfulness truly shines! My contour is terrific too, and I know no other doctor could have provided as beautiful of results. The caring nature of Dr. Emily, Sam, and Lori makes every appointment something to look forward to. What an exceptional experience every visit! I highly recommend Charm City Plastic Surgery.

Staff at the front desk were wonderful–welcoming, friendly, & helpful. The nurse practioner was outstanding–was kind & friendly, listened to what I had to say & communicated all to the doctor before he came in. The doctor was welcoming & efficient. I’m very pleased overall with my experience.

I recently visited the dermatology department at the University of Maryland, and I was impressed with the level of service provided by the front desk staff. They were welcoming, professional, and efficient from the moment I walked in. The check-in process was quick, and they were very helpful in answering my questions and guiding me through the paperwork. Their friendly attitude made my visit stress-free and pleasant. I appreciate the excellent customer service and highly recommend the dermatology department for anyone looking for a smooth and positive experience.
Maria Gomora

Without a doubt this Dermatology office is the best, with the most caring group of professionals you will ever meet.
Starting with Dan at the front desk, to the entire nursing staff that could not be any more attentive. Only to be followed by Dr Makhzoumi and her Residents who go way beyond the care that you expect to get and what you receive is much much better than you have ever been treated before.
benton a berman

This office is amazing. The doctors are so on point and information. And the front desk ladies Tanisha, Maria, and Mackeeta were so professional and nice. I love this dept. and recommend them.

Front desk staff (shout out to Karis, Mackeeta, Maria) are friendly, respectful, helpful, (and funny!), from start to finish. Dr. Kwatra and his staff – Lynette (lead MA), Dr. Patel (resident) – are friendly, thorough, professional, and attentive listeners. Big thanks to everyone!

Dr Kontis was amazing from the beginning thru recovery of my facelift. She did exactly what I wanted. I wanted to “look the same”, but younger and that’s exactly what she did! The recovery was fast if you follow her directions and I was out in public 10 days after. I was able to get camouflage makeup across the hall from her aesthetician. She’s the best! No need to shop around!
michele allen

My entire experience was wonderful. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Dr. Kontis is a phenomenal doctor. She made me feel comfortable the entire process and even provided pictures! If I ever need another procedure done (that falls in her realm of expertise), I will definitely be returning. I cannot speak more highly of this office and Dr. Kontis. Go see her!
Jordan A

My daughter had an ear surgery (Otoplasty) performed by Dr. Kontis in March 2020 and she is very happy with the results. We selected Dr. Kontis because of my positive prior experience with her. She is a gifted surgeon and has a great bedside manner. Dr. Kontis explained the procedure to my daughter and she clearly understood what will be done, what anesthesia options she had, and what to expect during the healing process. The whole process was smooth and very professional, from the initial consultation through the surgery to the post-operative visits. At every visit, we felt that she, nurses, and all the personnel at the center really cared about their patients. We had a wonderful experience overall.
Zuzana Justinova

I recently had a few procedures performed by Dr.Kontis that I’ve been mulling over for many years. I have seen several other doctors and I never felt quite comfortable to “pull the trigger”. After meeting Dr.Kontis, I felt very comfortable with her and impressed with her knowledge. She knew exactly what my concerns were and how to address them. I felt confident in her abilities and went for it. I’m only a couple weeks post op, but I am very satisfied with the results so far. Dr.Kontis was fantastic and even called me the night after surgery to see how I was doing. I thought that was so thoughtful and a true sign, of what I already knew, she cares about her patients and results. My recovery has been great, and I was given a ton of useful information, materials and instructions. In addition, it was very clear to me that I could call anytime if I had any questions. The staff was also spectacular. Everyone I met was extremely accommodating and friendly. My wait time for visits was nonexistent. I’d highly recommend anyone considering any procedures in the Baltimore area to meet with Dr.Kontis. Thank you again! -EM

Just a reminder that this provider removes things that should not be removed, without numbing and it causes scars.
In addition to that their billing department is neglectful and will not bill your insurance on time, lie, then send you to a debt collector.
There is shady business going on I contacted an attorney previously about the issue and we had a strong case. I only didn’t choose to pursue because I was going through a cancer scare and emotionally dealing with that.
So I hope karma serves its purpose in this situation but more than that I hope everyone stays away and safe from these people!

I’ve been treated very successfully several times over years by Dr Poulton. I’m amazed at how quickly he examines and treats various skin problems. He’s knowledgeable about the medications used and prescribed. His small staff are courteous and helpful, unlike the bureaucracies elsewhere.

Dr. Poulton is a great Doctor. He has helped us with a ton of issues. My family has been going to see him for years. I had a billing issue that was my fault but I blamed them and was a really not nice about it but it was my fault they were very respectful the entire time and got it resolved.

Dr. Poulton has been my doctor for over 10 years. He is great at what he does! Very attentive to patients’ issues and finds the best resolution.

Dr. Buethe has excellent bedside manner. I became very emotional about my diagnosis and he was very compassionate to what I was going through. He is also very patient and knowledgeable about my diagnosis and gave some great treatment methods.
Jacqueline Joachim

After waiting over 2 months for an appointment with Dr. Buethe for a cancer screening due to a concerning spot my appointment was canceled the day before because I was being forced to see the other doctor who I saw Once for 2 minutes and did not have a good experience with. This is a horrible way to deal with patients. And to note – I have seen Both of these doctors so it’s not like one has more experience with me than the other. One doctor approached me as cold as ice and the other canceled the day before. Pretty disappointing.
Erin Proctor

I rarely leave comments on google unless requested however Douglas Buethe has become an immediate exception to this. so from beginning to end I recently worked with him after not seeing him for a long time because of the resolution of my issue via clobetasol(Most recent visit was back in 2019 to address eczema).
I had spoke with one of his representative after my eczema returned and my clobetasol prescription expired and the earliest appointment was the following wednesday which was pretty fine with me. We had a succinct and cordial conversation and that was the end of that.
Fast forward to the day of the appt and I was prepared and ready 15 minutes before. I wait until the time of the appointment and…nothing. at this point I’m assuming he’s working with a patient and is stuck in that appointment which is totally understandable. 15 Minutes pass and I begin to get a little frustrated because I was hoping to get in touch with my endocrinologist before he left for the day to discuss something regarding my brain tumor. I call the staff and politely ask what the holdup is with my appointment. They say that he is working with a customer a little late and i’m like okay thats fine.
40 MINUTES LATER I’m still not in my appointment and now I’m frustrated and I voice my frustration to the staff while still in a respectful yet stern manner(at this point my endo has left and now that is something wiped from my day that was pretty important). 5 minutes later he finally calls and he immediately begins discussing my previous dermatology appointments and etc. My opening response Is wow no apology about being late then discussing my issues.
We finish the appointment and I’m prescribed my prescriptions and He tells me once that I have to visit him every 6 months for prescription renewal which is fine. well last night I was looking into my after visit notes and in the notes he states that I was harassing his staff and that I was Non-compliant. at this point I’m baffled at the fact that he would actually lie and say that I was in any way harassing anyone because I am one of those Gen Z’ers that hate people that harrass staff because the job is not easy and I myself am in a customer facing role. I know he felt the desire to lie because I said wow no apology during my appointment which is crazy and he also said in the notes that I was frustrated because I had to wait while not adding that I waited 40 minutes.
The fact that his ego is so fragile that a small and justified comment is enough to warrant lying In notes that OTHER FUTURE DOCTORS CAN SEE is absolutely crazy. This is a pretty pitiful display coming from a reputable hospital like mercy. And my appointments with Dr.Buethe will be coming to an immeidate end.
Mason Allender

I am highly upset. While Dr. Buethe was kind, his staff lacks compassion and empathy. I have a baby and had to take care of him because I can’t leave him by himself while my husband finished an important meeting. I will say while I was 5 min over the grace period (most places it’s 15 min and I errored and theirs is 10 min), I already e-checked in the night before. I sometimes have to wait at most 30-45 min to be seen and I had to reschedule because of 5 minutes. The front desk person seemed like they were on a mission to be a jerk. It’s June and now I can’t be seen until October.
Nicol K-W

I have booked multiple appointments 6 months- 1 year ahead of time and they have cancelled my appointment multiple successive times. They also have an insane wait. ALSO, got two moles removed recently by him and 1 came back and the other has a terrible scar. I do not recommend whatsoever.

Had 2 large cysts removed from top of my head so I could start clean shaving my head. Expected to have 2 visible scars because of how large they were. BUT because Dr A is THE BEST, you can’t see a thing. Absolutely worth the hour drive! Her assistant Julia is awesome as well!
I’d much rather wait a month to get in to see the best, than the person that has many openings.
Cory Albright

After being a patient of Dr. Anderson’s for over 20 years, I have tried to schedule an appointment for an important skin issue. I was told that this would have to wait for over four months. I could not believe this and then was told if I could find another doctor to see me sooner, she would send my records to them. I find this hard to believe that they treat their older, loyal patients like this – all I heard was how busy she is. Unbelievable!
Jml

Dr. Anderson is simply the best. Both her knowledge and compassion as a doctor permit her to excel in her profession. Her ability to communicate to a patient is extraordinary especially in this time of instant medicine. One always feels special in her care and I am fortunate to have her as my doctor. There is no one better.
Michela Caudill

Dr. Anderson is amazing. I’ve been battling perioral dermatitis for years and nothing worked. I’ve been to other doctors but no luck. I made and appointment here and she realized we had been treating the incorrect diagnosis the entire time. She put me on the right medication and it was gone within a month. I’m so happy!
Judy M

I made an appointment in June and couldn’t get in to see this doctor until end of October. Okay, so I waited. I Was 10 minutes late for my first appointment unintentionally of course, bevause I under estimated traffic. i called to let the office know as soon as my GPS eta went up, thengirl on the phone said it was fine. Multiple patients (6) with times scheduled after mine were taken back while i waited. I Was kept in the waiting room for Almost 90 minutes before needing to leave to go back to work. Never saw the doctor after waiting 4.5 months for an appointment and over an hour in the waiting room. Now seeing another dermatologist that values it’s patients time.

I’m not even a patient and I had a bad experience, so definitely listen to the other reviewers. I called to get a new patient dermatology appointment. When the girl answered the phone she already seemed like she hates her job by the way she greeted with an attitude. I asked if they are accepting new patients with MPC. She said yes but I need a referral. While she is typically correct on that, with my specific state insurance I do not need one nor have I ever in the 4 years I’ve had it. I literally just went and saw an ocularneurologist, a special type of neurologist, last month without a referral and it was completely covered.. because I don’t need a referral. She wouldn’t listen though, she just kept saying she wouldn’t help me without one. I then explained I had also seen a dermatologist multiple times in the past without a referral because once again, I DONT NEED ONE. She refused to listen still, wouldn’t stop huffing while I was trying to talk, then started talking slowly to me like I’m dumb. I hung up because that’s not how you treat someone when they’re trying to tell you something. Sometimes you’re wrong, and that’s okay. All she had to do was call and ask MPC, and then they’ll tell her I don’t need one just like I did. But that would be common sense, which not everyone has evidently.

I went in to get a mole checked. It was not a scheduled procedure. no one asked me if I wanted/needed to check with an insurance before they cut it off, which was offered right there and then in the room. they charged me $1,000 for getting a single mole removed. they didn’t discuss with me the “facility fee” I could face but assumed I would read through an entire document of legal mumbo jumbo to find this hidden charge. this is thievery. it was literally a 5 minute procedure. then the office secretary just tried to wipe their hands clean by pointing to my signature when I called about it. totally dishonest. they showed NO concern or surprise when I told them about the size of the bill for my procedure, which makes me wonder if they ripping off and squeezing patients as a matter of normal business practice.

Dr Beuthe has been very thorough and kind at the appointment. However it is very difficult to get an appointment. He has removed 2 small growths, one was suspicious from my husband. He scheduled a follow up in 6 months and asked my husband to call if there were any areas of concern before that time. He found a very suspicious growth and called mid August to get an appointment, but couldn’t get 1 before follow up on Sept 11. Luckily family dr squeezed him in and took a biopsy on Sept 1. Growth was cancerous and it was removed a week later by plastic surgeon. Meanwhile checkup appointment with Dr Beuthe scheduled for Sept 11 was cancelled by his office and couldn’t be rescheduled until November 10- even knowing about the diagnosis. So I’m not sure why Dr Beuthe tells his patients to call if they see something suspicious – it doesn’t really matter to his office!

From the dermatologists I’ve seen at Hopkins, UMB and Mercy, Dr. Douglas Buethe is the most arrogant and rudest of all. He entered the room apoplectic because I had a conference call at the time of my appointment. He yelled at me, saying that I was “incredibly disrespectful.” Of course, I didn’t plan this call at the time of my appointment to upset him; sometimes my boss just calls. We then had a disagreement over the treatment, as I have been treated for my condition before and the course he was suggesting has never worked. So he dismissed me and told me to go find a different doctor. I’m very happy to have any dermatologist except him as my physician and will unlikely return to Mercy.
