This review is long overdue. About 6 months ago we had Trademark complete our kitchen renovation. The journey started with my wife and I being on the fence about using a design & build company. My wife is a pasty chef and finding a team to work with her stylistic vision and practical components of a kitchen was difficult. After meeting with a few other companies we came across Trademark. Christine, the office manager was very quick to gather details put the plan in motion (her responsiveness and organization continued through the whole process). Having had a few not so great experiences with kitchen designers our expectations were not the highest. This was until we met Nona. She took the time to really understand our vision. We never felt pressured and whenever we seemed to be stuck on our design, Nona always found a solution. She is really what sealed the deal for us moving forward with Trademark. Once we came in to see our 3d plans we were provided a compete breakdown of the cost. We were also informed we are allowed to use our own electrician and plumber which was reassuring as they had done most of the work in our home and are familiar with the layout.

On the first day of demo we met Marvin and Mike. They were single handedly the most respectful, clean, communicative, and talented contractors we have had work in or home. Their attention to detail was amazing and you could tell they took pride in their work. Any time we had a question or concern, working through them and Nona was seamless to find a solution or answer. About half way along the process Vasilios the owner did a walk though and you could tell he was also just as invested in the process and the results. His attention to detail was impressive and he made sure everything was moving forward correctly.

The only time we ever ran into a setback was the quartzite install (completed by a different company). There were a few delays and measurement issues. Nona could tell our concern because the quartzite was a pretty big part of our investment in the kitchen. She made sure that everything was installed correctly and even stayed for hours overseeing everything until the job was done.

Overall, we could not be more pleased with our experience with Trademark. Transforming the center of our home as well a providing a useful and practical space for my wife to work was key and Trademark made it happen!

A few years ago we used Trademark Construction for our kitchen and bathroom renovation in Columbia MD and we were very happy with their process , design and installation . This year we used them again for our kitchen renovation for the new home we purchase the beginning of the year. This time Vasilios came up with a better design for our kitchen from the first time since we had a lot more space . We ended up going with custom cabinets ( Vasilios recommendations ) with lot’s of accessories. We had the installation of the new kitchen from the same crew that did our installed 4-5 years ago. Recently, my roof, bathroom ceiling, and hallway suffered damage from the storms in September. I filed an insurance claim and began searching for professional services. I was referred to 1st Amazon, a Black female-owned company, and after reviewing their online feedback, I decided to support them. I was given an estimate and a proposal. Since the roof and ceiling were severely damaged, I wanted the repairs done as soon as possible, so I accepted. I expected a seamless process; however, it turned into a frustrating experience.

What was supposed to be a 1-3 day project turned into a month of stress and delays. After accepting the proposal, I didn’t hear anything for about a week and had to reach out to get things moving. Once I paid the deposit, work began the following week. The crew was late on the first day, but they were polite and respectful, and Krystal (the owner) was attentive. Unfortunately, I soon learned that one of the contractors had fallen through my roof, causing additional damage to another room. Personal property was also damaged, and Krystal assured me I would be compensated for my missed work time and damaged items. Later, she then offered to waive the $1,740 for the initial interior work in the proposal in addition to fixing the new damages they caused to make me even. To avoid further delays, I agreed, figuring this amount would cover my lost time, damages, and overall inconvenience.

The following day, the crew was supposed to arrive in the morning to repair both the initial interior damage and the new damage caused by the contractor. I took another day off work, as I was told someone needed to be home. However, no one showed up, and when I reached out for an ETA, I was informed they would not be coming. I was then told they’d arrive the following day between 1-2 p.m., so again, I left work early to meet them—but again, there was no call, no show. When I followed up, Krystal said they’d come the next day. They finally arrived but left me with a poor paint job and told me it was my responsibility to fix it. After bringing this to Krystal’s attention, someone came out four days later to address it.

In the end, a 1–3 day project turned into a month of inconvenience. Today (10/31), I was under the impression I would be paying the agreed-upon amount, which was the final balance for the roof in the agreed upon proposal. However, I was unexpectedly faced with an additional $840 charge. Apparently, there was bad wood that needed to be replaced, and the contract stated an additional $75 charge per piece of wood if required. I understand the need for additional materials, but to be informed of these extra charges only on the due date without any prior notice was unprofessional. Instead of saving $1,740, I saved around $800, which didn’t cover the lost wages and property damage, which totaled more than my savings. Had I known about this additional $840 expense before the due date, I would never have agreed to the $1,740 as the final amount to settle the balance. I believe the timing of withholding this information until the payment was due was intentional, just my opinion.

If you choose to go with this company, I strongly recommend reading your contract thoroughly. Be aware that your initial contract may be changed without much notice on the day your remaining balance is due.

She contacted her crew who came to my house in the afternoon of the very day of my first call to Amazon. The estimator examined the area of the leak on my roof and informed me of what needed to be done. He appeared very experienced and knew exactly how to make the repair. The price was reasonable and the terms were fair. Once we agreed to have his company do the job, the crew leader organized his workers and equipment and began to address the task at hand. They worked steadily for the next four hours or more to complete the repair well before sundown. The clean up was excellent and all of the staff were competent and polite. I would definitely use this company again.

They constructed a landing from my back door to the patio with stairs on two sides, a custom pergola, and replaced my front steps. All products are “maintenance-free” as I specified.

I discovered Strong Wall Construction by following local reviews of their work. I had been searching for a contractor for some time to repair water damage in our basement. David returned my call within the same day of calling and had an estimator out within a couple of days.

We had water damage to the corner ceiling of our finished basement as well as the ceiling above our guest shower. Repairs were scheduled within a couple of weeks of my initial call. I ended up being out of town at the time, but the Strongwall team kept me up to speed on the progress the entire time. They also discovered the vent to the shower outside had been sealed by the painters during construction which looked to be the cause of the water damage.

All repairs and patching we’re very well done to the point I couldn’t see any hint of repairs having been done and they were able to match the paint perfectly. I highly recommend this team!
