I saw this event and thought this might be a good way to celebrate my birthday. My hai and I attend a Thursday night performance as a pre-birthday celebration. We had great seats and the atmosphere was inviting and friendly. We look forward to attending other performances. My husband and I have shared with family and friends how great a time we had.

Came here for a friend’s art show and it’s surprisingly a super cute renovated space. Hardwood floors make the sound of walking echo but other than that nice light and nice theater for performances. It also has a bar
Alexis Stewart

This event was an amazing experience. Besides the fact that it was intimate, it was interactive. The musicians were very in tuned with the audience and put me in a trance deeper and deeper as each selection was played.
Mrs Dmfly78 Flythe

It was my friend and I’s first event; Chocolate Covered Rocky Horror Picture Show and it did not disappoint! The performance was great and the audience provided a great vibe for everyone. Checking in was simple and the small art gallery was fabulous while waiting. We’ll definitely be coming back for more events!

Great shows, great staff. One of the most wheelchair-accessible venues in Baltimore. They even have a ramp to get on stage.

I recently had my For Lovers Only Baltimore show at the Motor house. I have worked with them in the past as well and each time has been top tier experience. Hands down this is one of the greatest venues in Baltimore especially for independent artists.
I have to personally shout out Vik Lizardo who was my direct contact and coordinator for my last 3 shows/events. When I tell you this woman is AMAZING, that’s an understatement. She was thorough, professional and brought my vision to life EACH time BEYOND my expectations. She truly advocates for the indie artist and we NEED more people like her!!!
I have to also shout out Camille Connor for doing sound and lighting for me at the recent show. Set up was done in a timely fashion and the show sounding INCREDIBLE!! Lighting was exactly what I wanted.
If you are looking to host an event or put on a concert, MOTOR HOUSE is your venue.
Chanel Narcissus

This space is a lot bigger on the inside than it looks. It’s really fantastic for hosting events. I could see a wedding reception or baby shower to book launch/reading or even a live podcast happening here. I would personally do something artistic here. I haven’t been to the area during the day. However, if the artworks and murals around looked amazing at night, then I can only imagine how splendid they would be during the daytime.
If you are looking for a day venue, contact the management first. I have no idea what their hours are, I’m speaking strictly from the perspective of a visitor who attended two nighttime events here and really liked the spot. Did I mention that it’s spacious too!
Raphael O. Harry

The Indie Fest artists were marvelous. When thinking about this event, I pictured a nightclub scene. The bar is open, food being served and performances right slab in the middle in the thick of things. Maybe next year or years to come because they deserve the space.
Now to the problem with the all gender facilities. I went to use it and while I was in one of the stalls; a little girl entered. She heard me on the phone briefly, so she paused. She was definitely hesitant to use the bathroom.
She was careful but she hurried herself and in the same instance I waited for her to completely leave the restroom due to not making her nervous or uncomfortable. It was an experience where someone would have to explain themselves if I didn’t put my thinking cap on to consider a grown man like myself inside a restroom with a small child.
This is a bad kind of different and I tried to get the concept of it however the reality inside those stalls can be troublesome.
Kevin Bennett

Awesome place. Love all the cool graffiti which lines the outside of the building. A local artist friend took me there to show me their studio. They do art, plays, events, etc. Will definitely be going back. Wonderful for any & all ages.

Fun arts center and event space, with multiple rooms, stages, a bar, an empanada stand, friendly staff and cool art.

Here’s how my package arrived. There wasn’t even an attempt to try to fit the paper with a proper sized envelope or any cardboard backing (Amazon, Michael’s will ship with some extra board on both sides so it can arrive with no damage).

Been going here since my college days, and it still delivers. I paint murals now and they’re always our first stop when we need spray paint. Staff is also knowledgeable and easy to work with, great store overall!

Beautiful store and supportive staff. They helped me with my purchase, was in and out in 5 minutes. But it is definitely a store where you could spend hours. Take your artist or aspiring artists there.

Fantastic experience – everyone should go! Plenty of parking next to the studio. The staff are amazing – no experience necessary and they are right there to help with every step. Both of us made our projects in an hour total and then looked around their gallery space. Highly recommend it if in the area!

Babe took me to a glass blowing class at McFadden Art Glass. It was something I would have never thought to try, but it was fun! And we made some good-looking pieces, if I do say so myself. Jordan was our instructor, and she was awesome!
Tiffany

What a fantastic experience!!! My neighbor and I had a great time. Our instructor was so helpful and friendly and took the time needed to explain the process to us. I will return soon with my family
Laurie Rentzeperis

We visited for a “Make Your Own” glass blowing session and it was an awesome experience! This is a great idea for an outing whether you consider yourself artistic or not, and no prior glass blowing experience is needed. This place runs like a well-oiled machine, we had a group of 6 people and we were there for about an hour. The instructors took us one by one through the glass blowing process. They explain each step and allow you to do most of the work yourself, but are there to guide you along as needed and keep everyone safe. The instructors were very friendly, efficient, and helpful. We made a variety of pieces in our group (a vase, bowl, ring holder, paperweight, etc.) and they all turned out beautifully. They also allow BYOB so we were able to have a drink and a snack while awaiting our turn. I would love to come back for another session and create more pieces! Highly recommend!!!
Anastasia

What an awesome experience! Tim was our instructor and he was incredible. The entire staff works with the material and customers so effortlessly. It’s really so fun to watch them work and then to be able to create your own !? It’s unreal. I wasn’t sure what to expect but my expectations were surely met. You pick your own piece, the colors, you’re really able to make it your own! i’ve been telling so many people about this place since and look forward picking up our pieces. Thank you, Tim and McFadden Art Glass!!

I was there as one of the featured authors for an event presented by, “Zora’s Den” titled “In Our Own Words.” I loved the space, the art on the walls and there were multiple rooms so more than one event can take place at the same time. An amazing space to have events in Baltimore! Definitely recommend it!

Private entities can book / rent space at this location so I was at a private affair. The location is centrally located & easily accessible by bus , light rail, subway or private vehicle. Eubie Blake Center is full of history & culture and u can feel it. Great place for an intimate gathering.
Toni Phillips

Never been here before tonight. Very nice space. Staff were friendly. The freaking floors as you walk and the front door slamming was a bit of a distraction to the reading I was there to hear. Otherwise very nice. I look forward to attending other events here and learning more about this place.

In the late 1960’s due to a lack of attention being given to cultural arts, the Neighborhood Parents Club (NPC) took on the task of forming an after school arts program. As a direct result of these efforts, the NPC at Baltimore’s Dunbar High School received support for the arts through a demonstration project funded by the Baltimore City Model Cities Agency. The initial grassroots effort, then, evolved into six cultural arts centers around the city.
Model Cites subsequently merged with Baltimore’s Community Action Agency in the mid-seventies to become the Urban Services Agency.
The focus of these centers was performing arts (dance, theater, band, voice, and instrument) and visual arts (painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture). In 1978, a seventh center was opened, establishing Gallery 409 (at 409 N Charles Street) as the Urban Services Agency’s premier cultural arts center.
Simultaneously, conversations were being held with Eubie and Marion Blake in an attempt to bring significant pieces of the Eubie Blake collection to his birth place of Baltimore. Agreements were reached and the title for the original permanent collection was given by Mrs. Blake, to the Maryland Historical Society while a portion of the original collection was housed at Gallery 409. The premier Urban Services gallery was renamed as the Eubie Blake Cultural Arts Center in 1983.
In 1993, a fire destroyed the Gallery 409 facility. Additionally, in 1993, a corporation was formed to support the Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center, Inc. As a result, the Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center was housed at 34 Market Place at the Brokerage (now the Power Plant Live!). The pieces of the permanent Eubie Blake collection were taken into care by the Maryland Historical Society.
In 2000, the city of Baltimore transferred title of an historical property at 847 N. Howard Street to the Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center. Initial renovations were started using public city, state, and private funding. Full scale efforts continue to prepare the building to reclaim the Center’s portion of the Blake collection and to once again be the premier locale for cultural arts in Baltimore.
Having come full cycle, the Board, Staff and Community of the Eubie Blake Cultural Center are returning to the original and fundamental vision of those mothers from Dunbar High School and moving beyond by establishing not only programs for young people but also exciting and expansive programs–activities, events and performances–for adults and seniors.

I LOVE Amazing Glaze! It is my FAVORITE place to go. Staff here are friendly, encouraging, and helpful. They always make a big deal about seeing me, a repeat customer, here at least once or twice a week. I wear my headphones and paint for hours at a time, feeling relaxed and joyful. My art always turns out beautiful, and the prices are more than fair. I can’t say enough good things about Amazing Glaze.

The Craft Castle is the perfect example of what makes Baltimore Charm City! I feel so lucky to have somewhere like this to spend time. Reserve your spot for 2 hours of crafting, with just about any medium or supply you can think of available to you. No need to bring your own supplies or even your own ideas, since inspiration is everywhere! The first visit is well-designed: Craig facilitates a welcoming environment and shares some direction on a small first project to get started, so you have a bit of structure and it’s not too overwhelming. Regardless of the day, everyone else is lovely and the low-pressure conversation is the perfect vibe for both quieter meditative crafters and the social butterflies. I can’t recommend this experience highly enough – I’ll be back again next week! ✨
Kelly Lussier

It’s hard to describe how lucky I feel to have The Craft Castle nearby. Ever been stressed out at a paint-your-own-pottery place? (Or maybe that’s just a me problem?) Craig has managed to create a space where the focus is less on the finished product, and more about the joy of making. He has every craft supply you can think of, and many that you didn’t know existed. I’ve come alone and with friends, and both are great. There’s never pressure to talk to anyone, but if you do, the people there are always lovely. Highly recommend!
Jenny Mountain

I’ve walked by Craft Castle a zillion times and every time I’d think to myself how much fun it looked and that I should check it out…then I’d keep walking and forget about it. Recently a friend suggested signing up so I did and am SO glad!!! It was the most fun and restorative activity I’ve done in a long time! Where else can you be with a group of like minded people and leave with a shrinky dink!!! I highly recommend anyone who needs a little joy infused into their life sign up!! You’ll be glad you did!!
Jenn K

What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon — no Sunday Scaries here! I have been tapping into my creativity lately after having been “bad at art” as a kid, and the Craft Castle is such a welcoming and safe space to do so! Highly highly recommend!
Kristen McArthur

What a unique experience! We attended in a group for a 30th birthday party on a Saturday night. Whether you’re crafty or not, the owner Craig has created a space where all can have a positive, grounding experience. Just walking around trying to decide which craft supplies to pick from was half the fun. We will definitely be back!

I surprised my husband with a private glass blowing class with Nico and we had the best time! Nico is kind, patient and knowledgable and made the experience an enjoyable one for us. This was our first time ever glass blowing. We made paper weights, flowers and cups. Highly recommend if you’re a beginner and want to learn more about the process and walk away with some handmade products! Thank you for making my husband’s birthday a memorable one!
Charina Deausen

This review is for the wedding my partner and I had here this October. Anthony was great to work with, highly responsive, and was flexible given my concerns about potential issues with the COVID pandemic when I originally booked this venue about one year ago. We had both the ceremony and reception here back-to-back and really enjoyed it. This venue is fantastic in terms of rustic charm and unique character. The venue is on the smaller side, so just be warned that you are limited in how many people you can comfortably place into this space if you want to have sit-down dinner. Further the dance floor is on the smaller side. However, these are small downsides compared to the overall atmosphere of this venue. The studio also recommends several vendors to choose from for catering, music, etc which can make it a little easier in terms of wedding planning. If you are looking for a small-to-moderate sized wedding in the Baltimore area, you can’t go wrong here.

We had our wedding at Corradetti Glass Blowing Studio, catered by Woodberry Kitchen on 11/11/2023 and it could not have been any more perfect. The event space is absolutely gorgeous and the Corradetti team was a pleasure to coordinate with. Highly recommend!
