Today my friend and I both had the Haddock platter, soup and a drink for lunch at Lexington Market today. It was around $40. each including the tip. The platter looked great the fish is huge and sides were small but tasty. You get the impression that everything is made fresh because of the fresh items on display. The fish we ate was clearly frozen with a thick layer of breading that is way too salty, crunchy on the outside and doughy on the inside and the meat of fish is salty. It’s a total salt fest. The sodium content has to be out the roof. I resorted to separating the fish from the thick, salty deep fried shell/coating. This Haddock is way too expensive to be so unhealthy and unpleasant to eat. I realized this is my second time eating the Haddock. The last time I was with a different person who introduced me to the Haddock Sandwich. He said The haddock used to be half the price and it was amazing. He ended up complaining to a staff member that day during the meal out of embarrassment and frustration for how bad it was compared to what he remembers from the past. Ironically the cashier actually agreed and refunded us. Today I wanted to introduce my friend from NYC to a better place for fresh fried fish in Baltimore than a random corner take-out. I totally forgot about my previous experience. So I felt like a fool. I also noticed that the place was empty. The old Faidleys seemed to never be empty. All these tables and no seating in here feels very hostile and quite disrespectful especially during the holidays. Now I have a salt headache and I couldn’t finish the meal. They failed to mention that meat was in the collard greens. Both soups had a bunch of crab shells in them. I wasted $40. People were making crab cakes while handing cellphones. Rubber gloves were being misused. We noticed a man behind the counter eating with rubber gloves on at the oyster bar. Honestly, I get no pleasure from writing this review. I know that this is a beloved Baltimore landmark. The idea is to acknowledge the problems and save the business. It’s embarrassing as a person who recommends this restaurant to travelers often. Faidleys is the crown jewel of the market. I pray that they fix it because restaurants are closing down every day. Taste the food you’re serving. Get some seating and stop punishing the customers. Check your seasonings for the salt content. Retrain the staff in food safety protocols.

Stopped in for some seafood and a bit pricey for what we had but well worth the price. Casino clams were awesome, oysters I believe we're harvested locally and tasted so fresh!!! Stop in if your in the area for some great seafood!!

Stopped by Faidley's Seafood in Lexington Market for lunch on a Monday afternoon in August. Ordered the jumbo-lump crab cake which wasn't too bad. If I go back I'd probably try something else though. Good friendly service, very clean and vibrant atmosphere!
If you use rideshare be sure to use Faidley's address instead of the address for Lexington Market. Faidley's is on the Paca Street side of the market and, when I went, it was much safer than the Eutaw Street side.

I visited Faidley’s many years ago and now it is in the new section of Lexington Market. It is definitely for the tourists as it is clean and modern. Service is fast perhaps too fast. My daughter felt like the crab cake should have been warmer. It’s a good crab cake and enjoyable. Service not the friendliest but that’s not a big deal to me. I enjoyed the outdoor seating.
