Hi Morton!

Dance has been going well this season thus far! I honestly feel like Drew is gaining the knowledge and technique needed to advance her dance skills. She truly is excited to come to dance every class and even practice at home.

All the feedback I have received from Drew has made my heart smile. The Nutcracker blew my mind! Never in a million years would I have expected my 11-year-old to be dancing at this level, and I genuinely thank Morton Street for pouring into Drew.

Drew is resilient, and I would love to see her pushed to the max. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on how Drew can advance her skills and become the dancer that she truly inspires to be.

Drew admired dance at Baby. I don’t know if you remember Drew admiring the dancers while she was in a carrier. Ha ha. She even sat behind the stage watching tech rehearsals on Ms. Donna’s lap. She loves to dance, she loves friendships, and most importantly, she’s gaining the discipline needed to navigate through this world.

Although this mama is tired, lol, I love seeing her do what she truly loves—dancing!

MSDC is absolutely amazing. My daughter is 5 and this was her second year there and she loves it, and her father and I are just as pleased. It fosters a sense of confidence, community, pride, dedication and so many more things. She has made so many friends here along the way. I plan on keeping her thriving here as long as I can. Ms. Donna, Ms. Pat and Ms. Julianna are amazing, as are the teachers she had this year, Ms. Morgan and Ms. Jewel. It’s an overall outstanding dance center.

Our daughter has been dancing with Morton Street for over 4 years. We’re happy to have found a “home” for her development as a dancer, and we’re also thrilled with the growth we’ve seen in her confidence as well.
The staff are extremely knowledgeable and professional and they are intentional in providing the support and encouragement a growing dancer and adolescent need to blossom.
And the wide range of dance styles, repertory groups, performance engagements, intensives and camps offered provide lots of opportunities for dancers to thrive.
We tried out several studios in our quest to find the right fit for our daughter, and we believe that MSDC is by far the BEST dance studio in Baltimore!

My daughter was going there for camp in summer 2016 and for classes during fall and spring year of 2016/17. It was a great experience and the teachers were great! It’s for beginners and advance students. I wish it was something like this when I was little. I only gave it 4 stars because my boyfriend ordered a winter dance DVD (when our daughter performed) back in December 2016 and we never received it. I wrote them and they said it will be available in Feb. 17′. Time went on then and still no DVD. Tried to contact them but was no response. Even left a voice message. Oh well.

My 3-year-old and 18-month-old daughters attend the Carroll School of Dance and it’s their favorite Saturday activity.

We’ve been attending for over a year and have throughly enjoyed the dance teachers and administrators.

Recitals are an experience that many of our friends and family members are excited to attend.

If you’re looking for a dance school, I highly recommend the Carrol School of Dance.

My daughter has been attend the the Carroll school of dance for 2years and she loves it. She has learn so much and the teachers does just a wonderful job with all of the little ladies. Macee Whitehead is the owner and director of the school does a excellent job with the concert that school put on every year if anyone looking for a dance school don’t not look any further.

My stepdaughter has been attending this school for 4 years with no problems until recently. She called crying hysterically saying the owner made a comment about her hair and she didn’t want to take any photos. I approached the owner and she was extremely rude. I can acknowledge that it was a very busy time for her and in hindsight I should’ve waited to approach her at a later time to ensure my point was heard.

I’m a Director of an agency and I also own several businesses myself so I understand how frustrating it can be when directions aren’t followed, however, its imperative at all times to maintain professionalism especially when working with kids because they are so impressionable. My stepdaughter had just come from travelling and due to time constraints her mom had to make adjustments to her hair the best she could. Any comments about her hair should have bee made to her mom directly. Theres NO reason a child should be made to feel uncomfortable.

Just like school teachers, dance teachers, coaches etc are looked at as idols to children and your behavior whether verbal or physical towards them matters! Even after speaking with my step daughter about the situation I had no intent to consider her removal from the program as I was optimistic that the conversation with the owner would go well, however, that decision has changed.

I gave the business 3 stars instead of 1 star because of one of the dance moms that has been super helpful over the 4 years I have interacted with her. I dont know her name but her daughters name is Riley. She is always super helpful and easy to approach. She was also able to shed some light on the incident that occurred which was super helpful.

I’ve been going here for about 9 months now and I LOVE IT!
Toni, Keiona, and Jenn are great instructors!
When I started I was struggling with rib flare and abdominal separation due to pregnancy(diastasis recti).
I was able to fit 1 finger completely between my abdominal muscles. Not enough to require surgery, but enough to cause problems with my core strength.
Toni was able to show me exercises to help me regain my abdominal strength and my abdominal separation is fixed!
She helps create modifications on exercises until you are able to perform the move completely.
She always encourages to challenge yourself, but not to push yourself to injury.
Fantasy fitness has a very welcoming atmosphere. All the women I’ve met there are kind and encouraging. ❤️
After my first month I’ve been a monthly pass holder and will be for a long time.
I love the community I’ve found here and feel great after every workout!

In just 3 classes, our instructor Julie, taught me and my fiancee a great first dance song. We were thrilled at the progress we made every class. I appreciated the methodology she used to teach us basic steps and then evolve to something more complicated. We are thrilled we were able to get lessons from here.

The lead instructor was great. My husband and I needed a lesson before our wedding and since we hadn’t taken lessons in years, he provided us some basic steps and really put us at ease with doing our “First Dance” at our wedding. It turned out so well and we received a lot of compliments on how natural we looked. Since we usually looked very much beginners when we did ballroom dancing previously, we give our instructor a lot of credit for providing us with good instructions and making it fun too. We truly enjoyed our First Dance. Plus, the place is really nice and clean with parking available and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

I’ve been going to Arthur Murray Dance in Baltimore for about 8 months and have had nothing but positive experiences since I joined. Arthur Murray has helped me immensely when it comes to feeling confident when dancing and would recommend their studio to anyone interested in learning dance. They offer a wide variety of dance styles, so there is something for everyone. All of the teachers there have been professional but personable. Tiffanie, my personal instructor, has been incredible. Her ability to balance critiquing without criticizing has been huge, especially for someone like me who feels self-conscious when dancing. Our lessons always are a ton of fun and take place in a very relaxed environment. Their have group parties on Fridays that always get a good turnout and gives you a chance to meet some of the other students as well as dance with other instructors. This is very helpful as it allows you to get another professional’s perspective and a chance to learn something in a different way than your instructor may explain it as well as get to know the other students there. Arthur Murray is a quality dance studio and would recommend to anyone looking to learn dance in a fun, upbeat environment.

All Star Cheer is an Beautiful experience.
We come from a football sideline cheer, although its similar in ways this has been an upgrade to our Rec life. All star cheer requires Commitment and Dedication from the parents, staff and athletes. The process is REAL…. but its worth it. The competition days can be early and long, the performances at All Star level are quite short but to be engaged in a competition you get to see the other teams you’re competing against and began to learn and process the importance of tumbling and extended practices, and loud frustrated Coaches and you can visually compare where tuition applies to within a team.
My Children have not experience any type of disrespect, in fact I enjoy witnessing my children create a bond and sisterhood within the organization.

My G.I.R.L.S have an array of classes to get your girls involved. Its affordable and has a conveient location.

I personally wanted to see my childrens talents go further than tik tok. This program have set a path for their future athletic endeavors. Its heart filling to see your children push them selves to limits that they didnt believe exists and to battle their fears by being disciplined in their craft and believing in themselves and their team.

We put our 3 year old daughter into two sessions of ballet at Hampden Dance arts. We were a little put off at first by how stringent the policies on the website were about things like leotard and tights color and other details, but went for it. We found her teacher Jen to be pretty good with the little kids. She was patient and capable with them, and remembered to make it fun from what we could see. Our daughter loved the class, so we chalked up the aggressive policies to being more for older students.

When it came time for the recital though things didn’t go nearly as well. The very stringent policies returned around things such as hair style and sock color. This was a class of toddlers. The actual recital was at Baltimore Soundstage, an odd venue for sure. Tickets and parking were expensive. Nearly $30 per person just for tickets. After making everyone line up on the sidewalk and wait for minimum 20 min to get into the space, the event also started nearly 30 min late. They also ran out of chairs, which was odd since it was ticketed so shouldn’t you know the attendance?

Overall the entire experience of the recital soured us on the studio. While the weekly classes were pretty solid, we won’t be returning in the fall because of how poorly run the recital clearly was.

I always wanted to learn ballet as a child but never got the opportunity. When I was finally ready to learn, many places did not offer adult ballet. After some thorough research I found this place. I started going two days a week but loved it so much that I am doing three. The instructor is patient and give constructive feedback and very welcoming. No regrets and I also lost 20 pounds.

Hampden Dance Arts is my absolute favorite studio of all time and Casey is the BEST teacher I’ve ever had.

I’ve met a lot of dancers and choreographers, tried various classes in my life – but Casey tops them all. She’s extremely welcoming, kind, patient, skilled, versatile and creative. Casey knows how to cater to all skill levels and always provides the exact notes or encouragement you need to improve.

Besides her knowledge, experience and talent, what stands out about Casey is how much she cares about her students. Casey TRULY cares that every student in the room is benefitting/learning and will always slow down to help someone find their groove. Casey creates an accepting, comfortable environment where everyone can grow. She’s transformed my dancing, as well as my confidence as a dancer.

I haven’t taken class with Jenn yet, but I’ve always appreciated her kindness and flexibility! I decided to take my first class very last minute and called in a panic—unsure if they had room. She was very friendly and accommodating over the phone. When I mistakenly paid for sessions without the multi-class discount, Jenn promptly applied a refund for me and was very communicative.

Adult classes here are the best part of my week. If you’re an experienced dancer looking for classes in the DMV – or want to try out something new – this is the spot!!

I cannot wait for this studio to expand and meet the well earned demand in Baltimore!

I took a series of adult beginner ballet classes, and I had a positive experience overall. The teacher was very knowledgeable, and I definitely learned a lot. The only downside was that she wasn’t very patient or encouraging and regularly got frustrated with members of the class when they couldn’t execute something based on the instructions she gave or their current level of ability. I didn’t find it to be a positive or supportive vibe, so I probably wouldn’t go back. My sense is that this is probably a great place for kids classes, but if you’re an adult looking for a dance class that’s going to pick you up, this may not be for you.

Importantly for me, she focuses on learning and enjoyment without any of the toxic negative body image that can come along with dancing. My daughter loves it, we love it, I can’t recommend this place enough!

Additionally, they’ve helped countless students get into numerous prestigious art schools and elite dance companies around the world. I would send my child here in a heartbeat if you desire great results as a dancer and a school with a warm familial feel.

Customer Reviews
I had the pleasure of training under S Funk in Hip Hop dance; while she was preparing me for my music video Q.U.E.E.N. She created a wonderful piece and choreographed a routine for the second portion of my video. Along with two other great dancers from her organization we were able to pull it off in about 3 1/2 weeks. Though this video only shows a fraction of her work…I learned during my time; that Shannon is a great instructor full of energy and truly dedicated to her craft/projects she commit to.

Well I have known Shannon for about 10 or 11yrs. & she is super passionate about her dancing. She lives for it & her students love her alot. At the Harbor location on Howard St. I had the pleasure to freestyle with her to Michael Jackson Style on the 70 ft. historic marble bar in downtown Baltimore. The same one that Fred Astaire danced at the Congress Hotel built-in the 1900’s.
